In the run-up to Art Trade, we introduce the participating artists by asking them some questions. Today: Sam Andrea who could also see himself be a writer or a poet, maybe a rockstar, maybe a professional boxer but probably a full-time junkie.
What does an artist do throughout the day?
I can not speak for artists in general, but I can tell you what I've done today: got up early in my studio, ate some eggs, masturbated twice while listening to some Mozart, painted a bit, biked around the city wondering what to do, painted some more - failure, drank some vodka and now I’m having this interview.
Which artwork (well-known or unknown) do you wish you had made yourself?
‘Caligula’ is a great movie. I wish I made that.
What would you have become, if you weren’t an artist?
Maybe a writer or a poet, maybe a rockstar, maybe a professional boxer but probably a full-time junkie.
Why do you think Art Trade is a good idea?
It’s tax free! I don't like money anyway. Better skip right to the goods. Plus it’s exiting! I wonder what people will be offering for the artworks.
What other projects are you working on?
I am playing in a band called NEED and I’m trying to fix my bike, which broke today.
